Huge game by Manginell boosts NY AppleCore over Adirondack, 6-3

Blake Manginell had two goals and two assists to lead the NY AppleCore Minor B to a 6-3 victory over the Adirondack Junior Wings.

Manginell scored at 24 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 NY AppleCore and again while 19:05 into the third to make the score 6-3 NY AppleCore.

NY AppleCore forced Junior Wings' netminders to work without much rest, firing 39 shots and forcing 33 saves. Matt Cologgi made 23 stops and Daniel Petroccione made 10. The Minor B surpassed their usual scoring output this season. NY AppleCore averages 3.6 goals per game.

NY AppleCore also got points from Cale Schoenberg, who also had one goal and one assist, Nicolas Jasmin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Jonathan Kaszuba, who also finished with one goal and one assist. NY AppleCore also got a goal from John Stevenson as well. In addition, NY AppleCore received assists from Nolan Pues, who had two and Bennett ODonnell, Cameron Giertych, Liam Pues, and Daniel Basist, who contributed one a piece.

Adirondack kept the Minor B's goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Kapelmaster made 30 saves on 33 shots.

The Junior Wings were helped by Andrew Mundweiler, who finished with one goal and one assist. Mundweiler scored on the power play 17:51 into the third period to make the score 5-3 NY AppleCore. Adirondack earned a power play opportunity when Andrew Barroso was put in the box for boarding. Cameron Kuhl picked up the assist. Adirondack additionally got points from Shane Kanaly, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kyle Fitscher also scored for Adirondack.

NY AppleCore totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The Junior Wings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
