Huge game by Nicholson boosts Tampa Bay over Space Coast, 12-2

The Tampa Bay Juniors' Brendan Nicholson had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 12-2 win over the Space Coast Hurricanes.

Nicholson's tallies came on the power play at 14:30 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Tampa Bay and 14:09 into the second to make the score 4-2 Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay's penalty kill excelled, as the Juniors gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Tampa Bay stifled Space Coast's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Juniors' offense rang up 44 shots on the Hurricanes' net. Tampa Bay outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Juniors average 5.4 goals per contest.

Tampa Bay additionally got points from Brent Barber, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Roope Hintz, who also finished with two goals and two assists to lead the team in points, and Austin Teall, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Tampa Bay also had goals scored by Ryan Odgers, who had two and Kurt Williams, Jonathan Hall, JC Bradley, and Tucker Barone, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Tampa Bay were Brett Vargas, Nicholas Frankich, and Zachary Capco, who each chipped in one.

Space Coast could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Hurricanes were helped by Nick Szymula, who tallied one goal. Szymula scored 18:29 into the first period to make the score 2-2. John Moran assisted on the tally. Space Coast also got a goal from Chase Horn as well. More assists for Space Coast came via Caleb Weesner, who had one.

Emil Eriksson recorded 21 saves for Tampa Bay. The Juniors incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Harrison Vangellow made 32 saves for Space Coast on 44 shots.
