Boston Bandits relied on the sparkling performance of Stephane Meunier in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Portland Jr Pirates. Boston Bandits' penalty kill excelled, as Boston Bandits gave up zero goals despite allowing 10 power plays. Boston Bandits was led by Matthew Grzybinski, who finished with one goal. Grzybinski scored 12:21 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Boston Bandits. Connor Graham provided the assist. Boston Bandits stifled Portland's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Boston Bandits' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Boston Bandits finished with 20 penalty minutes. Wesley Monson also scored for Boston Bandits. More assists for Boston Bandits came via Brandon Seal, who had two and Ian Drexler, Kevin Yun, Connor Sweeney, and Timothy Zaremski, who each chipped in one. The Jr Pirates racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Portland surpassed its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. The Jr Pirates put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Boston Bandits to score on any of its seven power plays. Portland forced Boston Bandits goalie Meunier to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Jr Pirates were led by Nicholas Whitten, who scored the team's only goal. Whitten scored 1:52 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Boston Bandits. Dennis Patenaude picked up the assist. Boston Bandits' Meunier stopped 36 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Christopher Storey made 25 saves for Portland on 29 shots. The Jr Pirates ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Whitten was ejected from the game.
