Tampa Bay downs Potomac, 5-2Extreme - Training Rink Sat, Oct 06, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Zachary Capco had one point to lead the Tampa Bay Juniors to a 5-2 victory over the Potomac Patriots. Tampa Bay put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Potomac to score on any of its five power plays. Tampa Bay additionally got points from Austin Teall, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Tampa Bay also got a goal from Jonathan Hall as well. Other players who recorded assists for Tampa Bay were Nicholas Reed, JC Bradley, and Ed Kawczak, who contributed one a piece and Roope Hintz and Christian Aunspaugh, who each chipped in two. The Patriots excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Potomac was helped by Michael Santiago, who finished with one goal. Santiago scored 16:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Potomac. Shane Barber assisted on the tally. Judd Parker also scored for Potomac. In addition, Potomac received assists from Noah Rubin, who had one. Emil Eriksson recorded 14 saves for the Juniors. Tampa Bay ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. The Juniors ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kawczak was ejected from the game. Derek Guzik made 24 saves for the Patriots on 29 shots. Potomac incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
