Islanders downs East Coast, 6-3

Islanders took home the win against the East Coast Eagles, 6-3.

Islanders put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow East Coast to score on any of its five power plays. The Eagles were unable to stop Islanders from sending pucks towards the net, and Islanders eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Islanders found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Islanders averages 2.9 goals per game.

Islanders was helped by Christopher Maksut, who tallied one goal and one assist. Maksut scored 8:27 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Islanders. Thomas Missert assisted on the tally. Islanders additionally got points from William Platt, who also had one goal and one assist, Alfonso Diaz, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Missert, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Islanders also got a goal from David Wilcox as well. More assists for Islanders came via Jonathan Pate, who had three and Bradford Anderson, Andrew Newis, Keith Barnaby, and Justin Fisher, who each chipped in one.

East Coast was led by Matt Burleson, who registered one goal and two assists. Burleson scored 22:10 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Islanders. Shane Selan provided the assist. East Coast also got points from Selan, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Graff Richards also scored for East Coast. Other players who recorded assists for East Coast were Christopher Grosvenor, who had one.

Islanders took out Andrew McLeman after he had made eight saves and installed Michael Kitts in goal, where he finished with 12 saves and the win. Islanders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ryan Taylor rejected 31 shots on goal for the Eagles. East Coast incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
