DeLezenne nets hat trick, leads Florida Eels to 7-3 win over Hampton Roads

Joshua DeLezenne netted a hat trick to lead Florida Eels over the Hampton Roads Whalers, 7-3.

DeLezenne's first goal came 8:13 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:10 into the second and at 20:16 into the second.

Florida Eels stifled Hampton Roads' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Florida Eels forced the Whalers goalie Taylor Brost to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Florida Eels additionally got points from Brian Dennerlein, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Matthew Kiesel, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Florida Eels also got a goal from Ryan Frank as well. Other players who recorded assists for Florida Eels were Cameron Salander, Ryan Deese, and Jonathan Carlson, who each chipped in one and Daniel Boyd, Patrick Daniels, and Keanu Gallegos, who contributed two a piece.

Hampton Roads was helped by Grant Phillips, who grabbed one goal. Phillips scored 20:50 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Florida Eels. Trent Carter provided the assist. Hampton Roads also got points from Nathan Kanter, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kyle Buchanan also scored for Hampton Roads. In addition, Hampton Roads received assists from Conor Foster, Michael Addison, and Adam Choc, who each chipped in one.

Marc Terriault recorded 26 saves for Florida Eels. Florida Eels incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Whalers' Brost stopped 26 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Hampton Roads incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
