The Atlanta Knights came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Tampa Bay Juniors, but did just enough to escape with a 3-2 victory. Atlanta led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Knights' Patrick MacDonald's scored on the power play at 11:07 in the second period to put Atlanta up 3-0. The Knights managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Atlanta ended up below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. The Knights forced Tampa Bay goalie Emil Eriksson to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Atlanta was helped by Zachary Egan, who had one goal. Egan scored 3:17 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Atlanta. Se Kim assisted on the tally. Atlanta additionally got points from Kim, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Atlanta came via Jack Trischett, who had two and Nick Elliott and Cole Stallard, who contributed one a piece. The Juniors were helped by Zachary Capco, who racked up one goal. Capco scored 15:12 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Atlanta. Austin Teall picked up the assist. Jonathan Hall also scored for Tampa Bay. Other players who recorded assists for Tampa Bay were Nicholas Reed, who had one. Sean Davis made 26 saves for the Knights on 28 shots. Atlanta registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Eriksson recorded 34 saves for Tampa Bay. The Juniors incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
