Palm Beach wins tough contest against Hampton Roads, 3-2

The Palm Beach Hawks and the Hampton Roads Whalers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Palm Beach made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Kyle Kohlhorst secured the win for the Hawks with a goal in the second period.

Palm Beach was led by Kohlhorst, who finished with one goal and one assist. Kohlhorst scored 4:51 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Palm Beach. Tristan Lamontagne picked up the assist.

Palm Beach also got points from Lamontagne, who also registered one goal and one assist. James Leicht also scored for Palm Beach. In addition, Palm Beach received assists from JJ Augusta, who had two and Anthony Lerette and Shane Visnick, who contributed one a piece.

Hampton Roads did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Whalers average 4.4 goals per game.

Hampton Roads was helped by Nathan Kanter, who had one goal. Kanter scored 24:47 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Hampton Roads. Adam Choc assisted on the tally. Hampton Roads also got a goal from Kyle Buchanan as well. More assists for Hampton Roads came via Jonathon Jones, who had one.

The Hawks' Adam Silverstein stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Palm Beach incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Christopher Diaz made 17 saves for the Whalers on 20 shots. Hampton Roads incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
