Alexander leads Brewster over Islanders, 6-3The Rinks at Exeter Fri, Oct 05, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brewster Bulldogs' Brad Alexander had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-3 win over Islanders. Alexander scored 13:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brewster. Francesco Sherding picked up the assist. Alexander dished an assist on Michael Benincasa's goal that made the score 3-1 Brewster at 24:02 into the first period. He added another helper on Benincasa's goal that made the score 5-2 Brewster at 17:45 into the second period.Brewster pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 26 penalty minutes. Islanders was unable to stop the Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Brewster eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. The Bulldogs bested their season scoring average. Brewster averages 3.4 goals per game. Thomas Kirincic also scored for Brewster. In addition, Brewster received assists from Brett Barry, who had two and Zach Cassano, River Ward, and Sean Henderson, who each chipped in one. Islanders could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game. Islanders was helped by Jake Dickson, who grabbed one goal. Dickson scored on the power play 1:33 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Brewster. Keith Barnaby assisted on the tally. Islanders also got a goal from Harris Montayne as well. Other players who recorded assists for Islanders were Joshua Vernot and Justin Fisher, who contributed one a piece. The Bulldogs' Brandon Belz stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Brewster registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Michael Kitts rejected 37 shots on goal for Islanders. Islanders registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Islanders ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nicholas McNally was ejected from the game.
