Jersey Hitmen's Robby Marsanico had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 8-3 win over the Portland Jr Pirates.

Marsanico found the back of the net 15:55 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Jersey Hitmen and again while 14:19 into the third to make the score 7-3 Jersey Hitmen.

Jersey Hitmen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Portland to score on any of its three power plays. The Jr Pirates were unable to stop Jersey Hitmen from sending pucks towards the net, and Jersey Hitmen eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Jersey Hitmen surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Jersey Hitmen has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Jersey Hitmen also got points from Sean Johnson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Lucas Luppino, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Brendan Riley, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Corey Leskanic also scored for Jersey Hitmen. In addition, Jersey Hitmen received assists from Joe Masonius, who had two, Matt Langlois, who had three, and William Hoeft, Cory Sala, Eddie Coxe, Vincenzo Addeo, and David Kearns, who each chipped in one.

Portland forced Jersey Hitmen goalie Ryan Glander to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

The Jr Pirates were helped by Gregory Lodge, who finished with one goal. Lodge scored 17:04 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Portland. Portland also got a goal from Robert Downing as well. Other players who recorded assists for Portland were Robert Kerns, Callen Morisseau, Taylor Browne, and Evan Jewell, who contributed one a piece.

Jersey Hitmen's Glander stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Jersey Hitmen incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cam Riddle made 37 saves for Portland on 45 shots. The Jr Pirates incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
