Stallard leads Atlanta over East Coast, 6-1

The East Coast Eagles had trouble finding ways to stop the Atlanta Knights, which beat Eagles, 6-1.

Atlanta put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow East Coast to score on any of its five power plays. The Knights forced the Eagles goalie Cory Lignelli to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Atlanta was led by Cole Stallard, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Stallard scored 3:12 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Atlanta. Kienan Fenton provided the assist. Atlanta also got points from Nick Elliott, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Atlanta also had goals scored by Christopher Santa Maria, who had two and Jack Trischett and Zachary Egan, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Atlanta were Patrick MacDonald and Cale Massa, who contributed one a piece and Bradley Harley and Alex MacInnis, who each chipped in two.

East Coast's offense operated below it season average. The Eagles put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. East Coast could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Eagles were led by Graff Richards, who scored the team's only goal. Richards scored 11:08 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Atlanta.

The Knights' Lucas Thurston stopped 14 shots out of the 15 that he faced. Atlanta incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Lignelli rejected 27 shots on goal for East Coast.
