Adirondack rides Tooker to victory over Salem, 2-1

Chet Tooker had a standout game with 25 saves, and the Adirondack Junior Wings beat the Salem Ice Dogs 2-1.

Adirondack was sparked by Cam Shepardson, who tallied one goal. Shepardson scored on the power play 12:13 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Adirondack. The Junior Wings earned a power play opportunity when Adam Merry was put in the box for tripping. David Wilgocki picked up the assist.

Salem was unable to stop Adirondack from sending pucks towards the net, and the Junior Wings eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Shane Kanaly also scored for Adirondack. More assists for Adirondack came via Nick Young and Kyle Fitscher, who each chipped in one.

The Ice Dogs were led by Nicholas Latham, who scored the team's only goal. Latham scored on the power play 1:58 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Salem had gained a power play chance when Wilgocki was whistled for roughing. Bobby Mullins provided the assist.

Adirondack incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Bradley Radin recorded 37 saves for the Ice Dogs. Salem incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
