Adirondack rolls over Salem, 6-2

The Adirondack Junior Wings were firing on all cylinders against the Salem Ice Dogs, and when the final buzzer sounded Junior Wings emerged with a 6-2 win.

Adirondack got the win thanks to a great game by Nicholas Oda, who had one goal and three assists. Oda scored 10:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Adirondack. Cam Shepardson picked up the assist.

The Junior Wings forced Ice Dogs' netminders to work between the pipes, getting 37 shots and forcing 31 saves. Bradley Radin made 20 stops and Anthony Angelesco made 11. Adirondack's goal total was higher than its season average. The Junior Wings average 2.3 goals per game. Adirondack's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Adirondack additionally got points from Shepardson, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Liam McGuey, who also registered one goal and three assists. Adirondack also got a goal from David Wilgocki as well. More assists for Adirondack came via Matt Flynn and Kyle Fitscher, who contributed one a piece.

Salem was helped by Nicholas Latham, who grabbed one goal. Latham scored 5:47 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Adirondack. Bobby Mullins assisted on the tally. Christopher Minter also scored for Salem. In addition, Salem received assists from Trevor Bettano, who had one.

Chet Tooker rejected 28 shots on goal for the Junior Wings. Adirondack incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Ice Dogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
