Anthony Angello had one goal and two assists to lead the Syracuse Junior Stars to a 5-2 victory over the Connecticut Oilers. Angello got on the board by slotting home a goal 10:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Syracuse. Mike Seifert picked up the assist. Angello dished an assist on Seifert's goal that made the score 2-1 Syracuse at 3:32 into the second period. He added another helper on Conner Doren's goal that made the score 4-2 Syracuse at 24:05 into the second period.Syracuse additionally got points from Doren, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Seifert, who also registered one goal and one assist. Syracuse also got a goal from Tom Nicholson as well. In addition, Syracuse received assists from Alex Taylor, who had one and Tyler OMara, who had two. Connecticut kept Syracuse's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nate Skidmore made 36 saves on 38 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The Oilers were helped by Stephen Mettler, who grabbed one goal. Mettler scored 17:05 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Syracuse. Philip Prins provided the assist. David Landau also scored for Connecticut. Other players who recorded assists for Connecticut were Brett Backman and Christopher Santello, who contributed one a piece. The Junior Stars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Christopher Bastone recorded 16 saves for Connecticut. The Oilers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
