Suffolk holds on for 5-3 win against AdirondackRPI Houston House Sun, Sep 16, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Adirondack Junior Wings tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Suffolk PAL held on for a 5-3 victory. Suffolk made the score 5-2 on a goal by Tyler Murphy at 14:30 in the third period, and Adirondack got as close as 5-3 when Cameron Kuhl scored 18:42 into the third period. Cameron Smith was all over the ice for the PAL, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Smith scored 3:21 into the third period to make the score 4-1 Suffolk. Michael Martino picked up the assist. Suffolk forced the Junior Wings' goalies to work between the pipes, getting 40 shots and forcing 35 saves. Chet Tooker made eight stops and Matt Cologgi made 27. Suffolk additionally got points from Matthew Gault, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Christopher Seeback also scored for Suffolk. More assists for Suffolk came via Michael Gilroy, who had one. The PAL were unable to stop Adirondack from sending pucks towards the net, and the Junior Wings eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Adirondack was helped by Nicholas Oda, who finished with one goal. Oda scored 2:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Matt Flynn provided the assist. Adirondack also got a goal from Andrew Bourdeau as well. In addition, Adirondack received assists from Sam Vincent, who had one. Stephen Mundinger made 35 saves for Suffolk on 38 shots. The PAL totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. The Junior Wings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. |
