Behind a great game by Michael Kelleher, who had two goals and two assists, the Salem Ice Dogs defeated the Valley Junior Warriors, 5-2. Kelleher scored short handed at 7:09 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Salem and again while on the power play 10:57 into the third to make the score 4-2 Salem.Valley's power play was ineffective against Salem's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Ice Dogs stifled the Junior Warriors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Salem kept Valley's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Saraceno made 34 saves on 39 shots. Salem additionally got points from Bobby Mullins, who also had one goal and three assists, Nicholas Latham, who also registered one goal and three assists, and Adam Merry, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Salem were Nunzio Morretti, who had one. The Ice Dogs were unable to stop the Junior Warriors from sending pucks towards the net, and Valley eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. The Junior Warriors were led by Brandon Tuttle, who registered one goal and one assist. Tuttle scored 14:38 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Connor Donahue provided the assist. Valley also got a goal from Matthew Culot as well. In addition, Valley received assists from Luke Miller, who had one. Salem's Bradley Radin stopped 35 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Ice Dogs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Valley incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
