Korytko's goals lift Springfield to 2-1 victory over Maksymum

Brandon Korytko had two goals to lead the Springfield Pics to a 2-1 victory over the Maksymum Junior Hockey (Rochester).

Korytko found the back of the net on the power play 22:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Springfield and again while 20:13 into the second to make the score 2-1 Springfield.

Springfield's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Maksymum power plays. The Pics kept Maksymum's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jake Bryniarski made 29 saves on 31 shots.

In addition, Springfield received assists from Thane Schinabeck, who had one and Zachary Prout, who had two.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester)'s offense operated below they season average. Maksymum puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester) were led by Michael Whitehair, who scored the team's only goal. Whitehair scored 4:00 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Kevin DiMagno provided the assist.

Ian Milosz made 24 saves for Springfield on 25 shots. The Pics incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Maksymum ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
