The Maksymum Junior Hockey (Rochester)'s Michael Whitehair had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-1 win over Jersey Wildcats. Whitehair scored at 4:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Maksymum and again while 18:57 into the first to make the score 3-0 Maksymum.Maksymum forced Jersey Wildcats' goalies to work without much rest, ripping 31 shots and forcing 26 saves. Gennaro Anzevino made 11 stops and Grant Perry made 15. The Junior Hockey (Rochester) struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays. Maksymum also got points from Austin Harding, who also had one goal and one assist and Kevin DiMagno, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Maksymum also got a goal from Seth Giles as well. More assists for Maksymum came via Mikel Williams, who had one. Jersey Wildcats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Maksymum power plays. Jersey Wildcats' offense was handcuffed by Maksymum's defensive play, and Jersey Wildcats managed only 13 shots on goal during the game. Erik Andersson also scored for Jersey Wildcats. In addition, Jersey Wildcats received assists from Zakariya Sheikh and Gage Malinowski, who each chipped in one. The Junior Hockey (Rochester)'s starting goalie, Ian Sylves, made 10 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Ryan Morey, who stopped two shots. Jersey Wildcats incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. |
