Stephanik lifts Jersey Hitmen over Brewster, 7-3

Jersey Hitmen relied on the scoring touch of Dylan Stephanik, who netted two goals, to beat the Brewster Bulldogs, 7-3.

Stephanik found the back of the net 16:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 14:14 into the second to make the score 5-3 Jersey Hitmen.

Jersey Hitmen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brewster to score on any of its five power plays. Jersey Hitmen forced the Bulldogs goalie Conor Bunyan to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Jersey Hitmen got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Jersey Hitmen additionally got points from Cody Calcagno, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Joe Masonius, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Dylan Healey, who also registered one goal and one assist. Jersey Hitmen also got a goal from James Martello as well. Other players who recorded assists for Jersey Hitmen were Justin McKenzie, Sean Johnson, Robby Marsanico, Luke Rodgers, and Brendan Riley, who contributed one a piece.

Brewster was helped by Blaze Vogliano, who grabbed one goal. Vogliano scored 20:36 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Brewster. Christopher Litwin assisted on the tally. Sean Henderson also scored for Brewster. More assists for Brewster came via Brett Barry, Kevin McGee, Conner Grogan, and Jonathan Lovorn, who each chipped in one.

Jordan Hulahan made 22 saves for Jersey Hitmen on 25 shots. Jersey Hitmen incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Bunyan recorded 32 saves for the Bulldogs. Brewster incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
