Helena blows out Great Falls, 3-0

The Great Falls Americans had trouble finding ways to stop the Helena Bighorns, which beat Americans, 3-0.

Great Falls' power play was ineffective against Helena's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Bighorns were paced by Dylan Webster, who registered one goal. Webster scored 45 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Helena. Parker Olson picked up the assist.

Helena made the Americans' goaltenders to work in net, finishing with 74 shots and forcing 71 saves. Evan Hauser made 33 stops and Erik Powell made 38. The Bighorns stifled Great Falls' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Helena could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Bighorns average 7.0 goals per game.

Helena also got points from Olson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Ben Henne also scored for Helena. Other players who recorded assists for Helena were Corbin Belling, who had two and Theo Campe and Dillon Mershon, who each chipped in one.

The Americans put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Helena to score on any of its four power plays. Great Falls' offense operated below it season average. The Americans put an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game.

The Bighorns' Jett Salinas stopped 18 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Helena incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Great Falls incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
