Great Falls beats Bozeman 10-3 as Bastian gets hat trick

The Bozeman Icedogs could not stop the Great Falls Americans' Nate Bastian, who tallied a hat trick in a 10-3 win.

Bastian's first goal came 3:13 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:37 into the first and at 15:50 into the second.

Bozeman was unable to stop Great Falls from sending pucks towards the net, and the Americans eventually piled up 64 shots on goal. Great Falls outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Americans average 2.7 goals per contest.

Great Falls additionally got points from Lucas Lomax, who also tallied one goal and three assists, John Bedbury, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Doug Keller, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Lucas Stover, who also finished with two goals and two assists, and Connor Barta, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Great Falls were Billy Grillo, who had two, Erik Gatson, who had four, and Jake Bystrak and Dylan Garton, who each chipped in one.

The Icedogs did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 11 shots on net to force eight saves.

Bozeman was helped by Garrett Bryan, who racked up one goal. Bryan scored 1:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bozeman. Joe Dixon provided the assist. Bozeman also got points from Spencer Hallin, who also had one goal and one assist and Brett Barezewski, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Tyler Elson, who had one and Jesse Game, who had two.

Evan Hauser took the win and made zero saves before being replaced by Angus Klancher who made eight saves. Great Falls incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. John Shavic recorded 54 saves for the Icedogs. Bozeman incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
