Napanee squeaks by Campbellford, 3-2Warkworth Sat, Feb 02, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Napanee Raiders gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Campbellford Rebels. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Jesse Lloyd at 12:12 of the third period. Campbellford's power play was ineffective against Napanee's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Raiders were led by Lloyd, who grabbed one goal. Napanee excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Rebels were unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Napanee eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Jayden Adams also scored for Napanee. In addition, Napanee received assists from Luke Emmons, who had two and Andre Frappier, Troy Wylie, and Bud Norris, who each chipped in one. Campbellford was held below its usual level of production. The Rebels average 4.6 goals per game. Campbellford's offense rang up 33 shots on the Raiders' net. The Rebels were helped by Mitch Gibson, who registered one goal. Gibson scored 9:03 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Nick Orton assisted on the tally. Campbellford also got a goal from Steven Clarke as well. More assists for Campbellford came via Seamus McDougall, who had one. Mike Brogee made 31 saves for Napanee on 33 shots. The Raiders incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cole Mahoney rejected 29 shots on goal for Campbellford. The Rebels incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. |
