Amherstview erases deficit to stun Campbellford, 6-5

The Amherstview Jets climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the Campbellford Rebels, 6-5.

Amherstview never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Jets trailed 4-1 after a goal by Campbellford's Steven Clarke at 3:23 in the second period. Amherstview knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Jake Hulton at 4:40 in the third period. The Jets got the game winner at 5:22 in the third period on a goal by Hulton.

Isaac Desousa had two goals to lead Amherstview to victory. Desousa scored at 18:26 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Campbellford and again while 43 seconds into the third to make the score 4-4.

The Jets kept the Rebels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Mahoney made 30 saves on 36 shots.

Amherstview also got points from Brandon Gilmour, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Cassidy Bruni, who also had one goal and one assist. Amherstview also got a goal from Ryan Fletcher as well. In addition, Amherstview received assists from Liam Vanburen, who had two and Cody Stapley and Alex Wilson, who contributed one a piece.

Campbellford forced Amherstview goalie Troy Paquette to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. The Rebels got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Campbellford was led by Connor Turland, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Turland scored 2:49 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Campbellford. Seamus McDougall picked up the assist. Campbellford additionally got points from McDougall, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Josh Adams also scored for Campbellford. More assists for Campbellford came via Ryan Crowley, Tim Pandachuck, and Andy Paul (APM), who each chipped in one.

The Jets' Paquette stopped 40 shots out of the 45 that he faced. Amherstview incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Rebels incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
