Samis leads Campbellford over Deseronto, 11-1Deseronto & District CC Fri, Dec 21, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Jon Samis was all over the ice for the Campbellford Rebels, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Campbellford's 11-1 win over the Deseronto Storm. Samis' tallies came on the power play at 11:24 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Campbellford and on the power play 17:32 into the first to make the score 3-0 Campbellford.Deseronto was stymied by the Rebels netminder Cole Mahoney, who stopped 30 shots during the victory. The solid play of Mahoney will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.63. Campbellford kept the Storm's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cody Dafoe made 66 saves on 77 shots. The Rebels found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Campbellford averages 4.8 goals per game. The Rebels capitalized on Deseronto's penalties, netting five goals while skating with a man advantage. Campbellford also got points from Ryan Crowley, who also registered one goal and four assists, Mitch Gibson, who also finished with three goals and three assists, Seamus McDougall, who also grabbed two goals and four assists, Tim Pandachuck, who also had one goal and one assist, and Andrew Revell, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Kenny Turcotte also scored for Campbellford. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Chris Klompmaker, who had one and Hunter Fargey, who had two. Campbellford was unable to stop the Storm from sending pucks towards the net, and Deseronto eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Storm could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game. The Rebels incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Deseronto registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
