Picton outlasts Campbellford, 4-2Campbellford-Seymour CC Sat, Dec 15, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Picton Pirates gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Campbellford Rebels. Picton gained the winning advantage on a goal by Jack Davison 2:57 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. The Pirates were sparked by Davison, who finished with one goal. Picton forced Campbellford goalie Cole Mahoney to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Picton also got a goal from Evan Greer as well. In addition, Picton received assists from Kenny Murduff and Jeff Kingdon, who contributed two a piece. The Rebels were held below their usual level of production. Campbellford averages 4.8 goals per game. The Rebels were helped by Jon Samis, who grabbed one goal. Samis scored on the power play 2:45 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Campbellford had gotten the advantage when the Pirates' Steven Csanyi was sent off for kneeing. Hunter Fargey picked up the assist. Campbellford also got points from Fargey, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Campbellford came via Josh Adams and Tim Pandachuck, who each chipped in one. Andrew Pearson made 24 saves for Picton on 26 shots. The Pirates totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For Picton, Jacob Panetta and Brad Jacklin were ejected from the contest. Mahoney rejected 33 shots on goal for the Rebels. Campbellford totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Rebels ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Pandachuck was ejected from the game.
