Picton boosted by Wood's play in net, beats Campbellford 6-1Prince Edward Thu, Dec 06, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Picton Pirates relied on the sparkling performance of Adam Wood in net to grab a 6-1 win against the Campbellford Rebels. Picton got the win on the strength of a great game by Ryan Sizer, who had two goals and three assists. Sizer scored the first of his two goals at 10:39 into the second period to make the score 5-0 Picton. Mitchell Smith provided the assist. Sizer's next tally made the score 6-1 Picton with 2:58 left in the second period. Evan Greer assisted on the tally. The Pirates excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Picton forced Campbellford goalie Amos Lloyd to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Picton also got points from Jack Davison, who also registered one goal and one assist and Greer, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Jeff Kingdon also scored for Picton. Other players who recorded assists for Picton were Kenny Murduff, Geoff Cleminson, and Coleman Foisy, who contributed one a piece. The Rebels did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Campbellford averages 4.8 goals per game. Wood rejected 28 shots on goal for the Pirates. Picton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Amos Lloyd made 39 saves for the Rebels on 45 shots. Campbellford incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Rebels, Dylan Baxter was ejected from the game.
