Campbellford rips Deseronto, 7-2Campbellford-Seymour CC Sat, Nov 24, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Deseronto Storm had trouble finding ways to stop the Campbellford Rebels, which beat Storm, 7-2. Deseronto's power play was ineffective against Campbellford's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Rebels' offense rang up 43 shots on the Storm's net. The defensemen of Campbellford were also effective in Deseronto's zone, and came away with three goals. The Rebels could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. Campbellford was helped by Jon Samis, who had one goal. Samis scored 8:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Campbellford. Campbellford also got points from Steven Clarke, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, Ryan Crowley, who also registered one goal and one assist, Mitch Gibson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Connor Turland, who also had one goal and one assist. Campbellford also got a goal from Tim Pandachuck as well. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Josh Adams, who had two and Chris Klompmaker, Hunter Fargey, and Seamus McDougall, who contributed one a piece. The Storm struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 40 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays. Deseronto was led by Jared Boomhower, who racked up one goal and one assist. Boomhower scored 4:59 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Campbellford. Alex McConnell also scored for Deseronto. More assists for Deseronto came via Cody Stapley, who had one. The Rebels' Cole Mahoney stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. For Campbellford, Dylan Baxter was ejected from the game. Dan Corrigan made 36 saves for the Storm on 43 shots.
