Lagrois' hat trick boosts Port Hope over Campbellford, 6-1Campbellford-Seymour CC Sat, Nov 10, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Dan Lagrois was the highlight in Panthers' 6-1 win against the Campbellford Rebels. Lagrois notched his first tally 16:32 into the second period. He then added goals at 18:50 into the second and at 8:35 into the third.The Port Hope Panthers' Colin Goody was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 32 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Goody will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.98. Campbellford's power play was ineffective against Port Hope's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Panthers forced Rebels' netminders to work without much rest, firing 47 shots and forcing 41 saves. Cole Mahoney made 37 stops and Amos Lloyd made four. Port Hope excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Panthers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Port Hope averages 3.7 goals per contest. The Panthers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Port Hope also got points from Brandon Yorke, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Calibe Oliver also scored for Port Hope. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Shawn Mackie, who had three, Kyle Sullivan and Ryan Hickey, who each chipped in one, and Jacob Spicer, Josh Fulford, and Josh Fagan, who contributed two a piece. The Rebels' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Port Hope power plays. Campbellford's offense operated below it season average. The Rebels put an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. Campbellford forced Port Hope goalie Goody to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Rebels were led by Chris Klompmaker, who scored the team's only goal. Klompmaker scored 2:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Campbellford. Seamus McDougall assisted on the tally. The Panthers incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Port Hope, Ryan Wilkinson was ejected from the game. Campbellford incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
