Campbellford survives Picton comeback, wins 4-2

The Campbellford Rebels survived a determined comeback attempt by the Picton Pirates on the way to a 4-2 win.

Campbellford took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have Picton storm back on a Jack Davison goal 16:49 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Hunter Fargey had two goals and two assists to lead the Rebels. Fargey scored the first of his two goals at 7:53 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Campbellford. Ryan Crowley picked up the assist. Fargey's next tally made the score Campbellford with 7:17 left in the third period. Campbellford earned a power play opportunity when Jeremiah Doherty was put in the box for slashing. Steven Clarke assisted on the tally.

The Pirates were unable to stop the Rebels from sending pucks towards the net, and Campbellford eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Campbellford additionally got points from Seamus McDougall, who also had one goal and one assist. Campbellford also got a goal from Chris Klompmaker as well. More assists for Campbellford came via Connor Turland, who had one.

Picton did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Pirates average 4.3 goals per game. Picton forced the Rebels goalie Cole Mahoney to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

The Pirates were led by Cole Bolton, who racked up one goal and one assist. Bolton scored 7:14 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Campbellford. Mitchell Smith provided the assist. In addition, Picton received assists from Brandon Peever and Andrew Burness, who each chipped in one.

Mahoney recorded 35 saves for Campbellford. The Rebels incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Adam Wood made 33 saves for Picton on 37 shots. The Pirates incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
