Amherstview outlasts Campbellford, 3-2

The Amherstview Jets and the Campbellford Rebels were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Amherstview made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

The Jets gained the winning advantage on a goal by Adam Alcorn 10:46 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Amherstview was led by Alcorn, who tallied one goal.

Amherstview also got a goal from Jesse Stone as well. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstview were Ryan Barnard, Brett Elder, and Liam Vanburen, who contributed one a piece.

Campbellford managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. The Rebels wound up below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. Campbellford was held below its usual level of production. The Rebels average 5.0 goals per game. Campbellford forced the Jets goalie James DAndrea to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

The Rebels were helped by Seamus McDougall, who registered one goal. McDougall scored 4:33 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Crowley provided the assist. Mitch Burkitt also scored for Campbellford. More assists for Campbellford came via Hunter Fargey, Dylan Baxter, and Levi George, who each chipped in one.

DAndrea recorded 47 saves for Amherstview. The Jets avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of one power plays. Campbellford's Cole Mahoney stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Rebels registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
