The Picton Pirates survived a determined comeback attempt by the Campbellford Rebels on the way to a 6-4 win. A goal by Nolan Van Vlack put Picton up 6-3 in the third period, but Campbellford pulled to within two on Hunter Fargey's tally 19:01 into the third period. The Pirates' penalty kill excelled, as Picton gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays. The Pirates' offense rang up 42 shots on the Rebels' net. Picton's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. The Pirates give up 1.8 goal per game. Picton got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The Pirates were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 36 penalty minutes. Picton was led by Kenny Murduff, who had two goals. Murduff scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 1:38 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Picton. The Pirates earned a power play opportunity when Chris Roy was put in the box for boarding. Jack Davison provided the assist. Murduff's next tally on the power play made the score 5-3 Picton with 8:18 left in the third period. Picton also got points from Riley McGuire, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Picton also got a goal from Brad Jacklin as well. Campbellford kept Picton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Wood made 37 saves on 41 shots. Campbellford additionally got points from Seamus McDougall, who also registered one goal and two assists. Chris Klompmaker also scored for Campbellford. More assists for Campbellford came via Ryan Crowley, who had three. The Pirates registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Picton ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Davison was ejected from the game. The Rebels' Amos Lloyd stopped 36 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Campbellford incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For the Rebels, Roy was ejected from the game.
