Nepean clinches tight 1-0 victory against Hawkesbury

The Nepean Raiders and the Hawkesbury Hawks played 60 tight minutes of hockey, but in the end it was Nepean that came away with a 1-0 victory.

Kenneth Neil provided the assist on the the contest's lone goal.

The Raiders were sparked by Dalen Hedges, who racked up one goal. Hedges scored on the power play 19:24 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. A boarding penalty on Ryan Kruss had put Nepean on the power play. Neil provided the assist.

The Raiders were held below their usual level of production. Nepean averages 3.8 goals per game. The Raiders featured an improved defense during the game. Nepean gives up 2.8 goals on average per game.

More assists for Nepean came via Andrew DeBrincat, who had one.

Hawkesbury did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Hawks put an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game.

Matt Zawadzki rejected 21 shots on goal for the Raiders. Nepean incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Carmine Guerriero recorded 19 saves for Hawkesbury. The Hawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
