Munroe, Pembroke blank Kemptville, 3-0

Andy Munroe recorded a shutout against the Kemptville 73s as the Pembroke Lumber Kings picked up a 3-0 win.

Pembroke was sparked by Charlie Connell, who finished with one goal. Connell scored on the power play 12:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. The Lumber Kings had gotten the advantage when Kemptville's Brian Taylor was sent off for hooking. Keegan Harper assisted on the tally.

Pembroke's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Kemptville power plays. The Lumber Kings' defensive effort looked to be improved. Pembroke allows 2.9 goals per game.

Owen McDade also scored for Pembroke. More assists for Pembroke came via Ryan Erickson, who had two and Ryan Fraser-Lee, Sam Gleason, and Emilio Audi, who contributed one a piece.

The 73s were held below their usual level of production. Kemptville puts an average of 2.6 pucks into the net per game.

Munroe recorded 25 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The 73s' Billy Cooper stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Kemptville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
