Dalen Hedges netted a hat trick to lead the Nepean Raiders over the Kemptville 73s, 7-2. Hedges' first goal came 13:37 into the second period. He then added goals at 16:32 into the second and at 18:25 into the second.The game was close after the first frame, but Nepean banged in three goals during the second period to put the victory out of reach for Kemptville. The 73s' power play was ineffective against the Raiders' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Nepean bested its season scoring average. The Raiders average 4.4 goals per game. Nepean was effective with a man advantage, and put in four goals while on the power play. The Raiders' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Nepean finished with 23 penalty minutes. Nepean additionally got points from Kenneth Neil, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Nepean also had goals scored by Steven Johnston, who had one and Wyatt Coghill, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Mike Milito, Stephan Beauvais, Maxim Cote, Brandon Watt, and Michael Vered, who each chipped in one and Brent Norris and Andrew DeBrincat, who contributed two a piece. Kemptville was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. The 73s were led by Lucas Gonu, who finished with one goal and one assist. Gonu scored on the power play 2:31 into the third period to make the score 5-1 Nepean. A tripping penalty on Alexander Vazquez had put Kemptville on the power play. Jesse Lussier picked up the assist. James Devlin also scored for Kemptville. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Blaine Byron and Mason Nowak, who each chipped in one. Ryan Mulder rejected 26 shots on goal for the Raiders. For Nepean, Vazquez was ejected from the game. Dylan BrindAmour took the loss and made 14 saves before being replaced by Billy Cooper who made seven saves. The 73s ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Hayden Hanson was ejected from the game.
