Carmine Guerriero had a standout game with 56 saves, and the Hawkesbury Hawks beat the Carleton Place Canadians 4-1.

Hawkesbury's penalty kill excelled, as the Hawks gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Hawkesbury was paced by Pietro Antonelli, who registered one goal. Antonelli scored 15:41 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Hawkesbury. Stefano Momesso assisted on the tally.

The Hawks stifled Carleton Place's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Hawkesbury kept the Canadians' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tony Kujava made 27 saves on 31 shots.

Shane Topf also scored for Hawkesbury. More assists for Hawkesbury came via Holden Anderson, who had three and Yanik Laliberte and Justin Villeneuve, who each chipped in one.

Carleton Place was held below its usual level of production. The Canadians average 3.8 goals per game. The Hawks were unable to stop Carleton Place from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadians eventually piled up 57 shots on goal.

Carleton Place was led by Luke Martin, who scored the team's only goal. Martin scored 8:12 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Hawkesbury. Brock Edwards picked up the assist.
