Detroit Red Wings holds on for 3-1 win against Toronto Pro Hockey

Toronto Pro Hockey tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Detroit Red Wings held on for a 3-1 victory.

Detroit Red Wings made the score 3-0 on a goal by Kienan Draper at 10:01 in the second period, and Toronto Pro Hockey got as close as 3-1 when Cameron Peters scored 7:19 into the third period.

Detroit Red Wings was led by goalie Xavier Medina, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Medina certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.08 entering the contest.

Detroit Red Wings' offense was handcuffed by Toronto Pro Hockey's defensive play, and Detroit Red Wings managed only nine shots on goal during the game.

Detroit Red Wings was helped by DJ Dixon, who finished with one goal. Dixon scored 45 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Detroit Red Wings. Detroit Red Wings also got a goal from Garrett Szydlowski as well.

Toronto Pro Hockey could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Toronto Pro Hockey averages 3.7 goals per game.

Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Pro Hockey were Wyatt Johnston and Jake Uberti, who contributed one a piece.

Detroit Red Wings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities. Toronto Pro Hockey's starting goalie, Connor Mackenzie, made two saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Zach Tarr, who stopped four shots. Toronto Pro Hockey ended with no penalties and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
