Winnipeg Junior Jets and Connecticut Yankees skate to 2-2 tie

Winnipeg Junior Jets trailed Connecticut Yankees by two in the first period, but Connecticut Yankees did not give up and the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

Winnipeg Junior Jets managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Winnipeg Junior Jets wound up below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game.

Winnipeg Junior Jets was helped by Ty Smilanic, who registered one goal. Smilanic scored 1:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Connecticut Yankees. Seth Jarvis picked up the assist. Evan Herman also scored for Winnipeg Junior Jets. In addition, Winnipeg Junior Jets received assists from Ty Thorpe and Cole Jordan, who each chipped in one.
