Montreal Ice Storm squeaks by California 02s, 4-2

Montreal Ice Storm and California 02s were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Montreal Ice Storm made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Liam Verdoni at 11:40 of the second period.

Montreal Ice Storm was led by Verdoni, who registered one goal.

Montreal Ice Storm put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow California 02s to score on any of its three power plays. California 02s was unable to stop Montreal Ice Storm from sending pucks towards the net, and Montreal Ice Storm eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Montreal Ice Storm also got a goal and assist from William Dufour. Montreal Ice Storm also got a goal from Tyler Behl as well. Other players who recorded assists for Montreal Ice Storm were Devon de Vries, Anthony Munroe Boucher, Matthew Janiszewski, and Hendrix Lapierre, who contributed one a piece.

California 02s excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

California 02s was helped by Tyler Badame, who tallied one goal. Badame scored 10:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 California 02s. Tristan Rand assisted on the tally. Josh Doan also scored an unassisted goal for California 02s.

Mika Gonthier-Bernard recorded 20 saves for Montreal Ice Storm. Montreal Ice Storm incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Max Eddy made 37 saves for California 02s on 41 shots. California 02s incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
