Team East uses early goal to top Team West, 2-1

James Odom gave Team East the lead in the first period, and Team West was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-1.

A goal 5:56 into the the first period by Odom proved to be the game winner, and powered Team East to the victory.

Team East was led by goalie Tyler Stepke, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Stepke will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.59 entering the contest.

Team East was led by Bryan Hovanec, who had one goal. Hovanec scored 6:57 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Team East. Nicholas Randazzo picked up the assist.

Team East could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Team West was led by Kyle Bonstrom, who scored the team's only goal. Bonstrom scored on the power play 15:37 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Team East. A holding penalty on Will Shier had put Team West on the power play. Nick Marsh assisted on the tally.

Team East registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Allen Patten took the loss and made 10 saves before being replaced by Matthew Bartels who made 10 saves. Team West incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
