Texas downs St. Louis in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Texas Tornado pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the St. Louis Bandits on a clutch goal by Justin Greenberg.

Texas was led by Greenberg, who registered one goal. Greenberg scored 4:36 into overtime to make the score 4-3 Texas. Jack Prince picked up the assist.

The Tornado managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Texas ended up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. The Tornado put 38 shots on net during the contest, more than the 33.4 they average per game.

Jordan Lovick also scored for Texas. In addition, Texas received assists from Lucas Whelan, who had two and Michael Hoy, Jackson Leef, and Drew Mayer, who contributed one a piece.

St. Louis managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Bandits finished below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game. St. Louis relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Joe Kalisz, Frank Dichiara and Garret Peterson took 12 of the team's 22 shots.

The Bandits were helped by Stephen Bopp, who tallied one goal and one assist. Bopp scored 15:24 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Kalisz assisted on the tally. St. Louis additionally got points from Kalisz, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Drew Kariofiles, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for St. Louis came via TJ Sherman and Josh Dangel, who each chipped in one.

Frederick Leisner made 19 saves for Texas on 22 shots. The Tornado registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Spencer Viele recorded 34 saves for St. Louis. The Bandits registered one goal on one power play opportunities.
