The game between the Topeka RoadRunners and the Texas Tornado was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Topeka emerged with a 4-2 win. The RoadRunners gained the winning advantage on a goal by Jake Lynes 12:34 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, Texas faces elimination next time out. Lynes was all over the ice for Topeka, as he registered two goals in the win. Topeka also got points from Kyle Sharkey, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Sean Gaffney also scored for Topeka. More assists for Topeka came via Chris Bond, who had two and Luke Veitch, Dan Dupell, and Mick Bruce, who contributed one a piece. The Tornado's offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put 11 shots on net during the game. Texas was helped by Drew Mayer, who finished with one goal. Mayer scored 2:22 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Mitchell McPherson picked up the assist. Texas also got a goal from Mychal Monteith as well. In addition, Texas received assists from Michael Hoy, Jordan Lovick, and Taylor Herndon, who each chipped in one. The RoadRunners' Peter Traber stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Topeka incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Tornado took out Frederick Leisner after he had made five saves and installed Joakim Jutras in goal, where he finished with 12 saves and the loss.
