Kalamazoo downs Traverse City in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Kalamazoo Jr. K Wings' Andrew Graves scored 8:13 into overtime to beat the Traverse City North Stars, 3-2 (OT).

The win by Kalamazoo clinched the best of five series at 3-1.

The Jr. K Wings were paced by Graves, who racked up one goal.

Kalamazoo's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Traverse City power plays. The Jr. K Wings' offense rang up 32 shots on Traverse City's net.

Kalamazoo also got points from Danny Hamburg, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kalamazoo also got a goal from Brett Beauvais as well. In addition, Kalamazoo received assists from Christian George, who had two and Alex Brooks, Robbie Payne, and Taylor Burden, who contributed one a piece.

The North Stars forced Kalamazoo goalie Alex Okicki to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Traverse City was helped by Seth Adams, who tallied one goal. Adams scored 11:58 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Traverse City. Will Badner picked up the assist. Traverse City additionally got points from Badner, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Traverse City came via Chris Waterstreet, who had one.

Alex Okicki made 37 saves for the Jr. K Wings on 39 shots. Kalamazoo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kyle Laslo rejected 29 shots on goal for the North Stars. Traverse City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
