Port Huron rolls over Michigan, 5-1

The Port Huron Fighting Falcons were firing on all cylinders against the Michigan Warriors, and when the final buzzer sounded Fighting Falcons emerged with a 5-1 win.

With the win, Port Huron evened the series at 1-1 in the best of five showdown.

The Fighting Falcons were paced by Easton Powers, who registered one goal. Powers scored 4:44 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Port Huron. Maxwell Reavis provided the assist.

Port Huron stifled Michigan's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Fighting Falcons forced the Warriors goalie Trevor Gorsuch to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Port Huron also got points from Reavis, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Port Huron also got a goal from Jake Goldberg as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Huron were Bret Lewandowski, Kody Polin, Ian Miller, Brett DAndrea, Rick DeRosa, and Mitch Sand, who contributed one a piece.

Michigan excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

The Warriors were led by Alec (AJ) White, who scored the team's only goal. White scored 5:12 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Port Huron.

Max Milosek rejected 17 shots on goal for Port Huron. The Fighting Falcons ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Trevor Gorsuch made 37 saves for Michigan on 42 shots. The Warriors totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play.
