London rides Edwards to victory over Strathroy, 3-1

Taylor Edwards had a standout game with 49 saves, and the London Nationals beat the Strathroy Rockets 3-1.

The win by London clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

The Nationals pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes.

London was led by Spencer Watson, who registered one goal. Watson scored 13:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 London. Scott Lombardi picked up the assist.

The Nationals stifled Strathroy's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

London also got points from Aaron Dartch, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Daniel Cameron also scored for London. More assists for London came via Jake Monaghan, who had two and Thomas Menechella and Clark West, who contributed one a piece.

The Rockets' offense rang up 50 shots on London's net.

Strathroy was led by Ryan Field, who scored the team's only goal. Field scored 6:45 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Nick Boyer assisted on the tally.

The Nationals registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Dalen Kuchmey recorded 24 saves for the Rockets. Strathroy incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Rockets ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Boyer was ejected from the game.
