London downs Strathroy, 8-5

The London Nationals beat the Strathroy Rockets, 8-5.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Strathroy faces elimination next time out.

London capitalized on the Rockets' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

The Nationals were helped by Clark West, who finished with one goal and one assist. West scored on the power play 13:59 into the third period to make the score 6-4 London. London had taken the advantage when Strathroy's Derek Nap got sent off for slashing. Steven Taylor picked up the assist. London additionally got points from Noah Schwartz, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Daniel Cameron, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Paul Hopkins, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, and Aaron Dartch, who also had one goal and one assist. Thomas Menechella also scored for London. Other players who recorded assists for London were Adam Rzeszutko, Greg Staeger, Jonathon Sims, Tyler Bryden, and Billy Eansor, who contributed one a piece.

The Rockets' offense rang up 33 shots on the Nationals' net.

Strathroy was led by Greg Milner, who grabbed two goals and two assists. Milner scored the first of his two goals at 1:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Strathroy. Stuart King provided the assist. Milner's next tally made the score 7-5 London with 4:45 left in the third period. A cross checking penalty on Ian MacDonald had put the Rockets on the power play. Justin Thomas picked up the assist. Strathroy also got points from King, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Nap, who also registered one goal and two assists. Strathroy also got a goal from Tyler Duarte as well. In addition, Strathroy received assists from Ryan Field and Nick Boyer, who each chipped in one.

Taylor Edwards recorded 28 saves for London. The Nationals incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Strathroy's Dalen Kuchmey stopped 21 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Rockets incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
