Cameron leads London over Strathroy, 5-2

The London Nationals' Daniel Cameron had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 5-2 win over the Strathroy Rockets.

Cameron got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 18:59 into the second period to make the score 3-1 London. A cross checking penalty on Brett Dyck had put London on the power play. Aaron Dartch provided the assist. Cameron dished an assist on Noah Schwartz's goal that made the score 1-1 at 16:33 into the first period. He added another helper on Schwartz's goal that made the score 2-1 London at 17:59 into the second period.

The win gave the Nationals a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Strathroy was unable to stop London from sending pucks towards the net, and the Nationals eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

London also got a goal from Pieter Schinkelshoek as well. More assists for London came via Steven Taylor, who had one.

The Rockets forced London goalie Taylor Edwards to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Strathroy was helped by Derek Nap, who grabbed one goal. Nap scored on the power play 12:13 into the third period to make the score 3-2 London. The Rockets had taken the advantage when the Nationals' Spencer Watson got sent off for high sticking. Ryan Field picked up the assist. Strathroy additionally got points from Tyler Duarte, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Strathroy received assists from Brent Andriash, who had one.

Edwards rejected 29 shots on goal for London. The Nationals incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Dalen Kuchmey recorded 37 saves for Strathroy. The Rockets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
