Hawke leads Brantford over Stratford, 6-2

The Brantford Golden Eagles' Trent Hawke had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-2 win over the Stratford Cullitons.

Hawke found the back of the net on the power play 11:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Brantford and again while on the power play 4:59 into the second to make the score 6-0 Brantford.

The win by Brantford clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

The Golden Eagles' penalty kill excelled, as Brantford gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

The Golden Eagles forced Stratford's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 43 shots and forcing 37 saves. Jesse Raymond made 13 stops and Taylor Dupuis made 24.

Brantford additionally got points from Matt Quilty, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Brantford included Brandon Montour, who had one and Mike Rebry, who had two. In addition, Brantford received assists from Tyler Norrie, who had two, Jeff Swift, who had three, and Tanner Rutland and Dillan Walker, who each chipped in one.

Brantford was unable to stop the Cullitons from sending pucks towards the net, and Stratford eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Stratford also got a goal from Ray Huether as well. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Tyson Avery, Tyler Marchand, Brad McClure, and Jared Culliton, who contributed one a piece.

Bryce O Hagan made 41 saves for the Golden Eagles on 43 shots. Brantford incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Cullitons incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with 13 minors.
