Stratford falls to Brantford in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Tanner Rutland gave the Brantford Golden Eagles a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Stratford Cullitons when he scored 11:11 into the extra period.

The win gave Brantford a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Golden Eagles were led by goalie Talon DOrazio (APJ), who finished with 43 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, DOrazio (APJ) will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.84 entering the contest.

Brantford was paced by Rutland, who grabbed one goal.

The Golden Eagles forced Stratford goalie Jesse Raymond to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Brantford also got a goal from Jeff Swift as well. In addition, Brantford received assists from Paul Gallucci, Matt Quilty, Brett Appio, and Mike Rebry, who each chipped in one.

The Cullitons' offense rang up 44 shots on Brantford's net.

Stratford was led by Myles Melchers, who scored the team's only goal. Melchers scored 11:51 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Watson picked up the assist.

The Golden Eagles ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Raymond recorded 40 saves for the Cullitons. Stratford finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage.
