Augusta falls to Huntsville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Huntsville Havoc pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Augusta RiverHawks on a clutch goal by Mike MacDonald.

Huntsville evened the best of three series at 1-1 and forced a deciding game three.

Colin Reddin had two goals and one assist to lead the Havoc. Reddin scored the first of his two goals at 3:12 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Justin Fox picked up the assist. Reddin's next tally made the score 3-3 with 51 seconds left in the third period. Derek Foam assisted on the tally.

Huntsville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Havoc's offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put 11 shots on net during the game.

Huntsville also got points from Fox, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Huntsville came via Stuart Stefan and Alex Morton, who contributed one a piece.

Augusta stifled Huntsville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The RiverHawks forced the Havoc goalie Mark Sibbald to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Augusta was helped by Matt Auffrey, who had one goal. Auffrey scored 7:45 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Neil Graham picked up the assist. Augusta also got a goal from Egor Mironov as well. In addition, Augusta received assists from Tyler Howe, Jason Price, and Ed Snetsinger, who each chipped in one.

Sibbald recorded 32 saves for Huntsville. The Havoc incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The RiverHawks' Jon Olthuis stopped 23 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Augusta incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
