Bismarck survives Aberdeen comeback, wins 5-3

The Aberdeen Wings tried to dig themselves out of a four-goal hole, but the Bismarck Bobcats held on for a 5-3 victory.

A goal by Daniel Zawacki put Bismarck up 5-1 in the third period, but Aberdeen pulled to within two on Joseph Sullivan's tally 17:24 into the third period.

The win by the Bobcats clinched the best of five series at 3-1.

With four goals and one assist between them, Adam Knochenmus and Castan Sommer teamed up to power Bismarck's offense. Knochenmus registered two goals and one assist and Sommer also added two goals.

The Wings were unable to stop the Bobcats from sending pucks towards the net, and Bismarck eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Bismarck also got points from Zawacki, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Bismarck came via Danny Ray, who had one and John Furgele, Bryce Anderson, and Shane Omdahl, who contributed two a piece.

Aberdeen's offense rang up 44 shots on the Bobcats' net.

Aberdeen also got a goal from Justin Parizek as well. In addition, Aberdeen received assists from Lane Mahoney, who had two and Cory Ward, Paul Prescott, Ryan Wagner, and Oliver Widding-Persson, who each chipped in one.

Aaron Nelson recorded 41 saves for Bismarck. The Bobcats incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Marcus Zelzer rejected 28 shots on goal for the Wings. Aberdeen incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
